The Shift Extension crew aims to publish up to four volumes per year however the primary volumes published are the Summer and Winter volumes.

We accept manuscripts that include paramedic experiences, news stories, case studies, research, anecdotes, basically anything that is related to what we do, that is accurate, relevent, engaing, educational and reads well.
Submission Guidelines
Your manuscript and any attachments should be sent in a single email to the editor-in-chief. In your submission email, please provide the following details:
Full contact information for the corresponding author and related qualifications
The names and qualifications of any additional authors
If you have any writing experience (previous publications). It is ok if you don’t, we are just curious to understand what assistance you may need to get you published.
What specifically is your article going to tell our readers? (One or two sentences)
Why do you think our readers need to know this? (One or two sentences)
Attach one to three pictures that you have the right to use (personal or open-source)
Independence
Remember that we are paramedics, writers and content creators as well, so it is extremely important to us that your rights are valued and protected. When submitting your manuscript to TSE, we will publish these under a creative commons license however you as the writer will retain all the rights to your own work and you can add more or request to remove your work from our website at your discretion anytime. By submitting to TSE, you agree that you are the owner of the work and you have not defamed, plagiarised or pirated the work. Please be aware that TSE does not charge for article submission or pay for articles published.
All completed submissions undergo a careful review process to assess accuracy and relevance and you should receive acknowledgment of your submission within one week. You may be contacted during the review process to discuss any concerns or questions about your submission. Rewrites are often requested to improve the accuracy and relevance but our team of developmental editors will assist you along the way. If references are required, we prefer Vancouver.
